The most popular item this year is a rainbow stacker that doubles as a bridge, a tunnel and a cradle. Every piece is sanded by hand so that little fingers never meet a rough edge or a loose splinter. Many parents tell us that the same set of blocks has been passed down to younger cousins and neighbours. Gift wrapping is available for every order, and each parcel ships in recycled cardboard packaging.

Why families choose wooden toys

Open ended play helps children practise counting, sorting, balancing and telling their own stories. A small basket of well made toys often keeps a child busier than a crowded shelf of plastic gadgets. Our team tests each new design with local families before it ever appears in the online store. We answer questions by email within one business day and are always happy to suggest an age appropriate gift.

• Solid maple and beech wood
• Child safe water based paints
• Made in Canada

If the paint ever wears thin after years of play, a light coat of beeswax brings the colour back to life. Children between one and three years old usually enjoy chunky pieces that are easy to grasp.
